TM Revolution is truly an international super star. Well known for his song "Heart of Sword", he is also a voice actor in his own right. Thanks to Tofu Records, we were able to talk with this rock and roll legend.

DVJ: What was your first voice-acting role?

TMR: Rurouni Kenshin. One episode very short, that was my first job. I died right away.

DVJ: What direction were you given on how to play Miguel (from Gundam Seed)?

TMR: The director knew that I was such a big fan of Gundam, and he basically said “You have a vision of Gundam already. He didn’t give me any specific directions except in that “just use the world you have in your mind”. I was expecting him to say “(do it) like this, like this,” but he didn’t, so I was a little bit nervous. So no direction at all.

DVJ: How many episodes of Gundam Seed did you do?

TMR: Three, and I get killed again.

DVJ: When you record with the other voice actors, was there a lot of camaraderie with the other actors?

TMR: There is a lot of camaraderie. A lot of the other voice actors came to my concerts, and I was a big fan of (the voice actors) before. So they would come over (to visit). There is a lot of camaraderie when you do something creative with a group of people.

DVJ: Your music videos are full of energy. Where do you draw your energy?

TMR: Songs are sometimes a one-way conversation. When, I sing its one way, and because of that, I think that a big part of music is to make people happy, and to give them energy, so I keep that in mind when I perform one of my songs.

DVJ: Burning Christmas has become a new Christmas song for Americans and Japanese. Did you expect the song to become so popular?

TMR: In America, Christmas is a holy holiday, while Christmas in Japan is almost a business holiday. I though about how different that was, and I wanted to talk about it in my song.

DVJ: Gundam songs are close to the heart of many fans. How does it feel to have INVOKE join the list of great Gundam songs.

TMR: When they told me that my song was the first song they wanted a theme to, and they enjoyed it themselves, made me very happy.
When the director and the cast of Gundam Seed go to Karaoke, they sing the song INVOKE (laughs)

DVJ: How long are you going to be in the United States?

TMR: About a week after the show (at Otakon), I go to Los Angeles...to talk about promotional opportunities.
